With great sadness and sorrow, I am letting you all know that David Le Beck passed away this morning.
With this glorious sunset, drizzling tear drops, and heavenly rays of light, David said his goodbyes. A brilliant man, a great photographer, a kind man, and a dear friend.
My name is Orly, I had been David's Friend and colleague for 14 years at UCLA, and he allowed me to log into his email contacts, and write to you, the important people in his life.
With teary eyes I am whispering farewell words, remembering his sad and defeated eyes in the past few days. Eyes that knew that he would never enjoy again the great outdoors which he loved so much, Never again capture beauty through his lens, nor enjoy the company of the people he cherished.
He was very sick, and so hoped and wanted to overcome his illness. We hoped so too, but it had advanced too far. Devastated, we, his few close friends, had witnessed his hope fading away along with him.
Thank you, Charlie, for taking upon yourself to be the contact man to the doctors and hospital staff, when no family member showed up, and thank you all, the people in his life who made the difference.
Good bye dear buddy. You'll be greatly missed.

(my reply to the email...)
I'm saddened by our loss of Dave.
I knew him through DeviantArt, then elsewhere on line, by a common ground in photography.
I was able to enjoy only one in-person conversation, over lunch some years back, and had looked forward to a follow up. Alas, my time has run short.
He will be remembered, and will live forward, through the stories friends will hold, and will pass along.
Miss you, Dave...
