Description
downtown Tracy, Calif
May 18th, 2008
b&w infrared impression, plus a bit of editing.
Part of the aesthetic fun of dealing with Kodak's "High Speed Infrared" film (HIE136) was the light flaring of the film, which in a strong over-exposure would actually bleed light out across the sprocket holes(!) or into the unexposed strip between exposed frames(!!).
The image recording of the Pentax K10D dSLR, through the Hoya R72 filter doesn't do this, nor does it appear to record as far into the IR part of the spectrum as the films did (through a Wratten 87 filter). My editing here added a bit of flaring, to mimic what I remember with HIE135.
