hey, it's me

captured January of 2006. The dressed-up guy is me! The woman I am very-happily kissing is my wife of 31+ years. Are we dressed-up for our anniversary? Nope. I was there recording my first wedding in ten years, for the daughter of a model/photographer-friend, Carin Petty. Force of habit...I dress up for such a job. The nice thing was that Debbie was also invited to join me for the weekend. There were a couple times when the "MOB" (mother of the bride") had our digital camera in hand, and got shots of the two of us. (I also had my 2 1/4 Bronica there - but she didn't seem so eager to pick up that beast on its camera and flash bracket)

(Note that I that grip on her wrist of my hand was because I remember she was trying to tickle me!)

This pic has been among the avatar images I've used on ModelMayhem, MySpace, ModelPlace, LiveJournal, etc. since I edited it. With all the typical glamour pictures on all the modeling sites of "cute, young, scantily-clad, 'look-here-and-smile-for-the-camera' models" scattered everywhere like leaves after the first good wind-driven storm in fall, I really liked that one of the "photographer guys" had a shot of him and his WIFE representing him on-line.

You'd almost think that after our tenure, I might still be in love with my wife. Well, you'd be right!

(3-1-07 add... I don't choose to see my marriage with her as simply something for granted. I appreciate the highs - and lows - that have made up the thousands of days we've shared. I appreciate the willingness to make the positive choices towards working to keep a relationship alive for the 'couple' in the picture - not just the 'individual man' in it...and it is that positive choice I continue to make.)
